The 43rd annual Golden Joystick Awards unfolded recently, and in a stunning display, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 emerged as the top winner. The standout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive won the prestigious Top Game award, along with honors for Superb Storytelling and Best Visual Design.
Adding to the studio's achievements, the gifted actors also garnered personal awards. Jennifer English received Top Lead Actor for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr took home Supporting Performance Award for his work as Verso. Moreover, Sandfall Interactive the studio received Best Development Team. In total, Clair Obscur and its creative team collected 7 awards throughout the ceremony.
Other notable winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which was awarded Top Sound Design and Best Console Game, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, honored with Outstanding Independent Game and Best PC Game. Worth mentioning, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are selected by the public, with only four awards—Critics’ Choice, Breakthrough Award, Hall of Fame, and Streamers' Favorite—determined by experts.
