Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with book publisher.

Prolific children's author and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

A spokesman for the company said: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the conclusion was reached following an review of claims about conduct deemed unsuitable directed at young women.

The firm has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, adding: "We do not comment on internal matters."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies globally in 55 languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.

Some of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.

He has published over four dozen titles in total, which features a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.

A Dual Career

His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.

This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
