The Women's Super League club are finalising completing the signing for prolific German forward Lea Schüller on a permanent transfer from Bayern Munich.
Schüller, who has six months remaining on her deal, is known as a consistent goalscorer for both club and country. Having netted over 100 goals for the German giants and scored 54 times in 82 appearances for her country. Her arrival will be seen as a marquee signing for the Women’s Super League team.
Her exit from Munich has been anticipated after she was seen holding back emotions while applauding the club's fans after a victory over Bayer Leverkusen this month.
It was reported in December that the Frauen-Bundesliga was losing one of its leading strikers. Per multiple sources, all the paperwork for the transfer have now been completed.
The experienced striker's signing should represent a significant uplift to United’s forward line. Schüller has been remarkably consistent with her finishing in the Bundesliga.
Securing the German international comes at a time when United appear to be gathering momentum.
